Introducing the Spread Love Challenge
The Spread Love Challenge (#SpreadLoveChallenge) encourages everyone to spread love as thick as you would Nutella because let’s be real, a break from bad news sounds pretty nice.
When I’m feeling down, I like to search for quotes that will help lift my spirits. Today was one of those days.
As if it’s not bad enough that businesses, schools, and events across the country are closing indefinitely due to COVID-19, I’m hearing of close friends getting laid off, and the stock market seems to be on a steady decline. We are all in this together though, and we need to pull each other up during times like this!
Here is an inspiring quote I found on determination:
The reality is, Coronavirus is here. If we just dwell on negativity, we will only be making it harder for us all to move forward down the road.
I’d like to introduce the #SpreadLoveChallenge because love is the one thing that every person can share with one another, even while practicing social distancing. Better yet, spreading love is FREE!
How you can participate in the Spread Love Challenge:
- Leave a positive online review for a small business that you LOVE. (Think of your favorite products, services, events, restaurants, boutique stores, and classes—literally any small business that brings you joy or has benefitted you in the past). Places where you can leave a review, are on Google, Yelp, Amazon, Facebook, Angie’s List, and Opentable. I’m sure there are many others… let me know if you have other recommendations of where to post a review so I can share that with others.
- Share a screenshot of your positive small business review on social media with the hashtag #SpreadLoveChallenge, and tag 3 friends who you’d like to take on the #SpreadLoveChallenge next! (If the business you are writing the review for has a social media account, tag them too!)
While this may seem like it’d make a small impact on the big picture of the Coronavirus pandemic, it will at least give small business owners a boost that they could use right now. My hope is that when things get back to normal, all of these positive reviews will help encourage others to give business to small companies. I also hope this hashtag will create a wave of hope among communities and encourage others to help wherever they can.
