I’ve had a LOT of Bloody Mary’s in my day, and let me tell you, the best one I’ve ever had was the “Bombin’ Bloody” at KT Base Bar in Squaw Alpine Resort.
Drink like you’re on vacation in Lake Tahoe!

About the origin of the “Bombin’ Bloody”
KT Base Bar is located at the base of the Squaw Alpine Resort where the ski lift is, so it’s an easy place to meet up with a group for lunch or just a break. The “Bombin’ Bloody” is a suitable name for the drink considering all the skiers and snowboarders who come bombing down the mountain to have one!
Once you grab your Bombin’ Bloody from the outdoor bar, you can sit back on the deck in an Adirondack chair while enjoying the mountain views at one of their fireplaces. I went on a cold day, but the spice of this bloody mary warmed me right up to get back out on the slopes.
When I was there, I had to find out why this particular bloody mary was SO GOOD, so I asked my lovely bartender Jess. She told me that the key ingredients making the drink phenomenal were Ancho Reyes (a 40% Alc/Vol. liquor crafted from ancho and poblano chiles in Puebla, Mexico), plus Demitri’s Bacon Rim Shot seasoning along the edge and Demitri’s Bloody Mary seasoning to add to V8 juice.
Another thing I loved about this bloody mary was the number of garnishes piled in there on a skewer. I recommend adding whichever garnishes you like best, but aim to have at least three different items as garnishes for variety.
If you buy an assortment of pre-pickled items for the garnishes, keep in mind that once you open a jar they last for up to 5 to 6 months when kept in the jar in your fridge. Here’s an idea for the leftovers: make a charcuterie tray!

I suggest getting V8 juice, celery, and pepper jack cheese cubes from your local grocery store.
If you have a friend that loves Bloody Mary’s, assemble the ingredients into a gift basket! Here are some of the drink accessories you could include:
Another go-to drink for après-ski is mulled wine. Unlike most recipes, my version makes just a single serving so you don’t have to worry about leftovers going to waste.
